We sourced this batch of Colombian Quartz from independent miners who truly take ethical mining to heart. This specimen was mined by hand with zero machinery, cleansed with oxalic acid (a non-caustic natural acid that’s created from spinach!) and then neutralized with baking soda water. Each Colombian Quartz cluster is unique in its shape and markings; this particular specimen, the giant specimen, displays these special qualities: split growths, which are deviations in the normal growth pattern of the crystal, resulting in a very unique formation of perpendicular points or points that grow completely through each other; hematite inclusions, which create a yellow to reddish color within the Quartz. This brings in the grounding properties of Hematite to the brilliant clarity of the quartz. Finally, this giant specimen features "wormholes", which is a new marking that they are finding in this particular batch of Colombian Quartz - they sent these specimens out to be looked at under a microscope! They found thousands of little tunnels within the crystal that appear like thin, wispy, white hair-like inclusions.
