- Clear it with smoke, with sound, or simply by holding it and restating what it is for. All three are safe for every mineral.
- When you are unsure about water, don't — a dry cloth is never the wrong answer.
- Keep it out of prolonged direct sun, which fades fluorite. A windowsill is the most common way a stone quietly bleaches over a few months.
