About this piece
Serpentine has been closely tied to the snake since ancient times. One Greek pharmacologist writing in the first century AD even recommended eating it as an antidote to poisonous snakebites. While we would never recommend ingesting this mottled metamorphic rock, it is an extremely potent tool when it comes to personal growth and healing.
The snake is an ancient symbol of transformation, well known for shedding its skin as it enters its next period of growth. Serpentine invites you to follow the snake’s lead, letting go of unwanted energy and unwelcome emotions weighing you down on your journey. This gem welcomes in a wave of fresh energy, revitalizing your spirit and kickstarting your growth so you can reach your full potential.
Like the snake, Serpentine is also associated with deep healing, protection, fertility, and creation. It activates kundalini energy — the potent life force energy coiled at the base of your spine — to engage your creative powers and encourage profound transformation. This gem is rich in magnesium, a potent healing mineral that promotes physical and spiritual rejuvenation and renewal. Working with Serpentine will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to make major strides on your soul path.
