2020 has shaken us all to the core, but even through it all, you are still standing! The last full moon of the year offers the chance to acknowledge your growth and evolution in 2020 so you can learn the spiritual and energetic lessons of this year before heading into the new year. As an energy magnifier, the full moon shines a light on where you are right now – so use this last full moon to shine a light on what you have learned and what you want to carry with you into next year.
For this full moon, you will need one magical crystal – something with a bit of shimmer, flash, or another special something to it. I recommend either Labradorite, Moonstone, or Lepidolite, but you can use any other crystal you have that feels special to you.
Begin by connecting into the earth's energy and looking at your stone. Move it around to see its magnificence. How does it look at different angles? What do you notice about the crystal? Does it have any flashes of color or light? The magic isn’t always right there when you first look at it, but over time as you explore, discover and reflect you may start to see new aspects of your crystal.
After a few minutes of exploring the crystal, it’s time to turn inward and reflect in a similar manner. Although 2020 has been challenging and difficult in many ways, for the purposes of this exercise, put those lower points to the side and focus on the more positive aspects of the year. What did you learn about yourself? What matters most to you? Who came into your life or left your life that taught something? What is one morsel of light that you gained this year and want to ignite going into next year? What can you do to shine a little brighter as you walk into 2021? Use the light of the full moon to shine a light on the lessons and teachings of 2020 that can empower you, embolden you, and elevate your energy as you step into the new year.
Continue to hold and connect with your crystal as you reflect. Ask your stone what it can show you about yourself. Imagine that the stone is a mirror of yourself over the past year. As you look at the stone, identify the areas of your life where you got stuck, and the areas of your life where there was light. Allow this full moon to fill your spirit with the energy of light and to cleanse your spirit of the darkness so you can start the new year at your highest vibration.
