Blowing out the candles on a birthday cake is a fun tradition, but there’s so much more significance to a birthday outside of the party. A birthday is a time to celebrate who you are and to manifest what you want for yourself in the year to come. To make the most out of your birthday, celebrate it the way you would any other energetically significant day: with a crystal birthday ritual. Today, in honor of Energy Muse's 20th birthday, we’re sharing the ultimate birthday ritual to help you maximize the energy of your date of birth each and every year.
The Ultimate Crystal Birthday Ritual
Step 1: Your Birthday Altar
Two days before your birthday, start setting up your birthday altar. Think of it kind of like a vision board – a place where you can bring your hopes, dreams, and aspirations to life. While everyone’s birthday altar will look different, there are a few basic items you'll need:
- A selenite charging plate, selenite cleansing crystal or copper charging pyramid (or both)
- A Fluorite Crystal Candle for making wishes
- Your favorite flowers or plants
- Healing crystals of your choice -- try to choose ones that align with your intentions and goals for the years ahead
- A small cup or jar of water
- Photos and other symbolic items to personalize your altar
The power of the crystal altar is that you can customize it to your own life, but still harness the energy of the elements and healing tools like crystals.
First, start by setting up your altar with the four elements: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. The candle will serve as your fire element, a jar of water as the water element, crystals and plants or flowers as the earth element, and your environment as the air element. By bringing together the energy of the elements, you can amplify your birthday altar and manifest your intentions faster.
To supercharge your crystals and your altar overall, place your altar on a Selenite Charging Plate or underneath a Copper Charging Pyramid. This amplifies the crystal energy and helps to bring your intentions to life.
Additionally, the inclusion of crystals can represent your specific goals and intentions for the year to come. For example, if you wanted to manifest a new relationship, you could place Rose Quartz on your altar to symbolize love. Or, if you want to manifest a new house or a new career, you could place Pyrite, the stone of wealth and success, on your altar. Choose however many crystals you want to represent your birthday intentions for the next year of your life.
Finally, decorate your altar with photos, words, or other symbolic items to represent your vision of what you want to create over the next year. These could be photographs, images from magazines, or other items like keys (to represent a house) or business cards (to represent your career).
Once you have your birthday altar all set up, leave it in place for 14 days.
Step 2: Your Birthday Wish
On the day of your birthday, light your Fluorite Crystal Candle and make your birthday wish. Allow yourself to be honest about what you really want and give yourself permission to dream big. If you could have anything, what would it be? If you are able to, leave your candle lit for your entire birthday, allowing it to burn down.
