Get the most out of your root chakra healing session by taking a few minutes for a grounding ritual. Why? Because it reminds us that there’s a time to dream and a time to take action. When you use grounding techniques with powerful stones like Hematite, Red Jasper, Smoky Quartz, and the like, it gives you the strength and encouragement to do your best in the present moment. After all, living with mindfulness and purpose is the best way to plan for a better tomorrow. When you’re grounded, it gives you the strength to withstand the roughest storms, and in our chaotic world, that’s practically a superpower.
So grab your favorite grounding stones and get ready to transform into a spiritual superhero with this simple healing ritual. After cleansing your space with sage, Palo Santo, or Frankincense, assume a standing position with both bare feet firmly planted on the Earth and hold a grounding stone in your hand. Your problems might be complicated but the solution is surprisingly simple. Be still with the stone and on each inhale, breathe in healing light radiating from the stone. And on the exhale, just let that sh!t go.
The root chakra is all about survival, and not just financial but emotional stability and balance. If you have a tendency to feel excessively fearful, it’s a sign that your root chakra energy is too low. Alternatively, if you have too much root chakra energy, it can manifest as unhealthy habits, like clinging onto old belief systems and possessions that no longer serve you. Same goes for people and past experiences.
Another excellent root chakra stone is Bloodstone, a powerful grounding crystal that helps cool off feelings of impatience and irritability. If you’ve been courting a case of serious burnout because of a stressful day, it’s time to set aside 20 minutes for a stress reducing healing session. Even 5 minutes can be beneficial.
Place your root chakra healing crystals on your desk or worktable whenever you feel stressed and need fast relief. Take a few deep breaths, taking a moment to meditate on the current state of your mind-body-spirit. Let your intuition guide you to the right crystal. Remember, the crystal chooses you and not the other way around. So don’t overthink it. There’s a reason why your eye lingers over a certain stone.
If you still need inspiration, a strong tension tamer combo is Red Jasper and Sunstone, which connects an opened and balanced root chakra with the sacral chakra, the energy center that processes feelings of intimacy and pleasure. The Red Jasper draws out stressful energy while the warm and sunny vibes of Sunstone fills your body-mind with the cheerful and restorative powers of the sun.
Lay on your back, and place the Red Jasper stone over your root chakra and the Sunstone over your sacral chakra for this root chakra healing session. Relax the body and meditate on the insight and guidance you receive from these stones. Close your eyes and let the crystals do their work. If feelings of uncertainty or confusion arise, examine it carefully and let the crystal energy clear the way towards your higher self. After all, it’s this part of your spirit that knows you the best.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word for a series of circular wheels of energy, in and around the body. It is believed that that we have energy centers in the soles of our feet and the center of our palms. The 7 chakras line up in the center of your body. The higher chakras, eight through twelve, are connected to the soul, the divine and the cosmos.
Each chakra is associated with a color, musical note, shape, belief system and element. The 7 chakras offer valuable information to help heal the mind, body and spirit. I have studied the 7 chakras for many years, and I still have so much more to learn about them. I recently came across some new information that I have found to be very powerful for root chakra healing.
The Root Chakra (1st chakra) is located at the base of the spine and the coccyx. The root chakra is Red and associated with security, survival, and everything solid in our life (our home, our body and the ground we walk on, etc.). The root chakra is about your family, ancestors and cultural beliefs. It is related to our connection with prosperity and how we attract it into our life. When the root chakra is balanced, you feel grounded and have an inner sense of security. You feel supported and are able to manifest opportunities and abundance. When it is unbalanced, feelings of fear, insecurity and not feeling like you belong prevail. On a physical level, elimination problems and foot issues are also associated with the root chakra.
I have always wondered, how do the chakras get out of balance? Is it my diet? Am I doing the wrong meditation or yoga practice? Was I thinking negative thoughts? I remember going to a healer and them telling me they re-aligned all my chakras. But how did I get UNBALANCED? I wondered, “How can I get into balance by myself?
This is the NEW information I want to share with you. It comes from the Rhys Thomas Institute of Energy Medicine and Margaret Lynch, a leader in the EFT—Emotional Freedom Technique. To see how your root chakra is functioning, look at the things in your life that are working and the things that are not. Look at your car, your house, your clothing and the physical aspect of yourself. Take a look at how your parents and ancestors relationship was with money. Were there any cultural rules regarding money such as, “You need to work hard for money,” or “This is just how it is for people like us,” or “I am not going to be money hungry and unhappy like my family,”? All these unspoken belief systems are rooted and programmed into the root chakra. To have a root chakra that is healed and balanced, the belief system that you have unconsciously held needs to be addressed. How do you know what belief systems you have unconsciously made about money and your personal security? The answers must come from within you. So you will have to sit quietly with yourself. I personally like to do chakra energy work while laying crystals on my body. The crystals help to balance and energetically shift the energy in the root chakra, so that you can achieve root chakra healing. At first, the stones will feel heavy on the body. This will make it easier to focus your energy and breathe into them.
Some of the best root chakra healing stones are Red Jasper, Smoky Quartz and Hematite. These are the root chakra crystals you will need for this Root Chakra Healing formation:
8 Red Jasper stones: Red Jasper is for grounding, stability and emotional balance. 8 is a number that represents authority, power and abundance.
4 Silver Hematite stones: Hematite helps to evoke deep thought. It is the ultimate grounding stone that vibrates with the root chakra. It assists in energetically connecting you to the Earth. The number four represents stability and security.
4 Smoky Quartz stones: Smoky Quartz assists in letting go off the past. It is a powerful stone that helps to clear away what no longer serves you. The number four represents stability and security.
Place your root chakra stones, in the grid formation pictured, over your root chakra (pelvic area). The root chakra crystals are patterned into a circular shape that mimics the shape of a wheel of energy. If this area is stuck, the root chakra stones will help open up the energy in this area of your body. Once you feel comfortable, ask for guidance from whatever your personal belief system is. You will be able to listen and trust the information that you receive. Ask yourself if there is anything from your past belief systems that is holding you back today.
Once you feel as if you have gained some helpful information from your higher self, remove the crystals. Write down any information you received in a journal. Rinse your root chakra stones off under running water, and sage them with smoke. Place them back in the bag or whatever sacred space you store them in. You can place these root chakra stones on your body whenever you want to retrieve information within your body to help with root chakra healing and your personal healing process.
Each and every one of us has healing abilities. The information you receive from your personal healing session can be shared with a doctor, therapist or anyone you are working with on your healing journey. This is a powerful process because you are an active part of it. It gives you the ability to do the work at anytime you want to, tapping into the shadow parts of yourself so that they can be shifted and transformed into light.
Many techniques exist for opening up and balancing the chakras. Feel free to use the root chakra healing technique mentioned above, or research others that feel right for you. The main message is get to the ROOT of who you are. You are powerful. Allow yourself the time and space to become rooted in you and rooted into the Earth. The Earth is the one thing that links us all together. Honor yourself and the Earth that you live on, each and everyday. Healer heal thyself.
